Team Bios
     
  • Barry Carr has 20 years of diversified experience in developing advanced electro-technology products and services for major electric and gas utilities. He has also provided sales, service, and financial training for fuel cell, natural gas, and electric vehicles at Honda and DaimlerChrysler. 
  • Mark Smith has spent the last 10 years in the Natural Gas Vehicle industry having worked for FuelMaker Corporation and Clean Energy.  In these roles he has provided refueling infrastructure solutions for both compressed and liquefied natural gas vehicles.  He has worked closely with public and private fleets, gas utilities and government officials to develop and expand the market for natural gas vehicles and refueling stations.  Mark is a graduate of Butler University with a B.S. in Business Administration.
  • Margaret Sullivan heads the marketing efforts at Homeland Energy. In this role, she performs site surveys, assists in dealer support, and presents alternative fuel vehicle and alternative fuel infrastructure operations training. Ms. Sullivan provides customer support, market research and data analysis, and administrative services.
  • Ira Rubenstein serves as chairman of Homeland Energy and was one of the original founders. He is currently an associate at Spencer Clarke, LLC, a boutique investment banking firm, and he focuses on the energy and environmental industry. Mr. Rubenstein is president of HRST Inc., an environmental consultancy, and Executive Director of the Environmental Business Association of New York State, Inc., the trade association that represents the environmental industry in New York State. He is a frequent speaker regarding the opportunities presented through activities that support economic development and environmental quality.
  • Carl Ferrentinoo, Esq., an energy and environmental attorney with more than 20 years experience, serves as Vice Chairman and Secretary. He is an expert advisor to participants in global greenhouse gas markets, representing buyers and sellers of emission reduction credits for nine years, in the capacity of confidential purchaser, selling agent and/or legal counsel.
  • Tom Jacoby serves on Homeland Energy’s Board of Directors and has senior-level executive experience with more than 25 years of accomplishment in management consulting, eSolutions, and the energy and consumer durables industries. Mr. Jacoby has extensive experience defining and executing profitable strategies in diverse industries with organizations ranging in size from start-up to Global 100. He has participated in and negotiated many joint venture and strategic alliance agreements.
  • John Fox serves on Homeland Energy’s Board of Directors and he has led the development of Homeland Energy’s business for the past five years, his third entrepreneurial venture. He has managed corporate finance for a mid-sized independent oil and gas producer and an environmental company specializing in anaerobic digester gas technologies, and he has served as General Partner of a real estate development firm since the late 1980s.
